like the budding wheat,

the sap-rising tree,

grapes ripening to maturity.

Do not speak pleasant words to me –

I dislike flattery and honors.

Do not rebuke me –

anxiety and contrition are not mine.

I live only for myself,

for the new growth –

all the rest are

pointless dreams.
